What's Your Game Plan?

Quitting can be tough. Are you strong enough to try? Don't let past attempts prevent you from trying again. Quit For Life has helped more than 480,000 tobacco users over the past 25 years. (Read testimonials.) It can help you too. But only when you're ready.

Quit For Life combines telephone counseling and medication support to address the behavioral and physical aspects of tobacco addiction. Research shows that this approach is more effective than counseling or medication alone.

An estimated 95% of quit attempts fail because people don't have a solid game plan. That's why the Carpenters Health and Security Plan offers Quit For Life® and other resources to help you quit.

Support is critical to your success—before and after your Quit Date. Here's what the program offers to help you prepare, take action, and live a tobacco-free life.

  • Free coaching — Receive 5 free phone sessions with a Quit Coach who specializes in helping people quit tobacco. Sessions are private, confidential, and scheduled for your convenience. You'll get help creating a step-by-step Quitting Plan and learn coping strategies for situations that trigger the urge to use tobacco. You'll be able to call a Quit Coach any time you feel the need. You'll receive an easy-to-use workbook to help you stick to your plan.
  • Free nicotine replacement—Using some form of nicotine replacement (patches, gum, or prescription medication) can double your chances of quitting. Your Quit Coach® will help you pick the right one for you. You'll pay nothing out of pocket for patches or gum. Prescription medication is available without a copay when your doctor writes the prescription.
  • Free Text2Quit—With permission, Quit For Life can send medication reminders and motivational messages to your supported mobile phone. Use Text2Quit to keep your Quit Coach informed, interact with Web Coach, and play games to deal with cravings. Just keep in mind that it's not a substitute for telephone sessions.
  • Free Web Coach®—You'll get access to a private, online community where you can complete activities, watch videos, track your progress, and join discussions with others in the program. There are more than 25,000 active members, so you won't be alone. You can even share your progress on Facebook!

Quit For Life is free for eligible carpenters and dependents, but don't enroll because it's free. Do it because you want to succeed.
