help align retiree claim costs
with contributions received. In
addition, July negotiations
added $.15 per hour effective
June 1, 2003 and another $.15
per hour effective June 1, 2004
to retiree medical coverage for
the 2003-2005 bargaining
period. These contributions
will help strengthen reserves
for paying future retiree claims.
The Board remains committed
to maintaining the viability and
effectiveness of retiree medical
coverage. These two changes
should be instrumental in this
process.
