The United Brotherhood of Carpenters Is More Than Hammers and Nails

Carpentry is one of the oldest and most respected professions in the world. As a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, you may be involved in the original construction or remodel of almost every kind of structure. You may build houses and churches or construct factories and bridges. One day you may work inside where it's warm and dry and the next day you may be outside in the cold and rain. You may find yourself working a hundred feet below ground or on scaffolds a hundred stories above ground. One building you work on may be constructed with wood and concrete and the next with metals, lath and special plastics.

With carpentry - and its many fields of specialization - the job you do today is not always the job you will do tomorrow. Carpentry must constantly change to meet the ever-changing needs of our economy and our lives. As these needs change, so change your skill set, your skill level and, most importantly, the satisfaction of your job.
