Summary Plan Description
Past Service
Past service refers to covered service in Western Washington before this plan existed. If you worked as a union carpenter in this geographic area between 1950 and 1959 you may be entitled to past service. One year of past service is earned for each continuous year of service performed immediately prior to 1960, up to a maximum of ten years. Each year of past service adds $4.00 to your total monthly benefit. To qualify for past service you must have at least 750 hours of covered service sometime in the calendar years 1957-1959. For example, if you worked continuously as a union carpenter between 1955 and 1959 and satisfy the activity test described above, you would be entitled to five years of past service. Five years of past service adds $20.00 to your total monthly benefit at retirement.
5 Years of Past Service x $4.00 = $20.00 Monthly Benefit For additional information about past service, please see Article 1.9 and Article 6.1.1. |
