Termination Of Coverage

Retirees

A retiree’s coverage terminates on the earliest of the following dates:

1. On the last day of the month in which the retiree no longer satisfies the eligibility requirements of this plan.
2. On the last day of the month preceding the month in which the retiree earns eligibility under the Carpenter Health and Security Plan – For Employed Carpenters, if the retiree returns to work for a signatory employer. A retiree may reenroll in the Retired Plan after earned eligibility in the Employed Plan ceases as described in Enrolling For Coverage.
3. On the last day of the month in which the retiree no longer qualifies for disability retirement under the Carpenters Retirement Plan of Western Washington, except as described in number two above.
4. On the first of the month for which the required monthly contribution was not received by the Trust Office. When coverage terminates, it cannot be reinstated.
5. The date the Carpenters Health and Security Plan – For Employed Carpenters or the Carpenters Health and Security Plan – For Retired Carpenters is terminated by the Board of Trustees.

Spouse And Dependent Children

A spouse’s or dependent child’s coverage terminates on the earliest of the following dates:

1. On the last day of the month in which the retiree no longer satisfies the eligibility requirements of this plan.
2. On the last day of the month in which the spouse or dependent child no longer satisfies the eligibility requirements of this plan (as described under Eligible Spouse And Dependent Children) unless he or she qualifies for, and properly applies for, COBRA Continuation Coverage.
3. On the last day of the month preceding the month in which the retiree earns eligibility under the Carpenters Health and Security Plan – For Employed Carpenters, if the retiree returns to work for a signatory employer.
4. On the last day of the month in which the retiree no longer qualifies for disability retirement under the Carpenters Retirement Plan of Western Washington, except as described in number three above.
5. On the first of the month for which the required monthly contribution was not received by the Trust Office. When coverage terminates, it cannot be reinstated.
6. The date the Carpenters Health and Security Plan – For Employed Carpenters or the Carpenters Health and Security Plan – For Retired Carpenters is terminated by the Board of Trustees.
