Summary Plan Description
Annual Deductible
The $200 annual deductible is the amount of covered medical expenses you must pay each calendar year before the plan pays benefits. Each individual covered under the plan has his or her own annual deductible. If you incur expenses in the last three months of a calendar year and those expenses are applied toward your annual deductible, those expenses will also apply toward your annual deductible for the next year. This is known as the deductible "carryover." When you and your dependents have paid a combined deductible expense of $400 in a calendar year, no further deductible is required for any family member during that calendar year.
Key Point
When you move from the Employee Health Plan to the Retiree Health Plan, any annual deductible expenses that were satisfied under the Employee Health Plan will apply toward the annual deductible expenses under the Retiree Health Plan.
